The Parks and Recreation Board consists of five (5) citizens of the City. Board members are appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Council, for overlapping terms of five (5) years.
The Park and Recreation Director acts as the liaison between the Parks & Recreation Board and the City Council. The Board was created to advise the Council on the needed facilities to provide open space such as parks, playgrounds, and community facilities for other forms of recreation. It shall also plan and oversee City programs and encourage other programs for the leisure time of the City’s residents of all ages.
The board meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Meetings are held at the Granger Community Center. All meetings are open to the public.
