|Description:||Join us for a fun filled week of art and fun! Each day will have a theme. Please dress your kids in clothes that are okay for them to get messy and get ready to have a blast! Summer Art Camp is for children who are entering Kindergarten- through 5th grade for the 2017-2018 school year.
Diving Deep Day
We will start off art club with a huge “splash” by plunging right into our first day! Kids will learn about various fish and sea creatures and what it is like in the deep, blue sea. We will have a ton of fun creating our own sea critters and diving into art.
Rumble in the Jungle
We are going on a trip… to the Amazon Rainforest! Cougars… jaguars… anacondas… oh my! We will talk about the huge amount of species of both animals and plants that live in the jungle. The rainforest is very important to our world! We will create our own tropical rainforest art and art that resembles the tribes we meet on our journey!
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s superhero surplus day!! We will be talking all about our favorite superheroes and comics! Kids will learn about cartooning and get to make their own comic strips and books! We will look at artists such as Roy Lichtenstein who made pop art and comics! We will also be designing our very own superhero capes and masks!
Makin’ a Mad Mess
For our final day of art club we are taking the fun outside! We will be doing all kinds of silly and crazy activities that include water guns, paint, and much more! We will look at abstract artists such as Jackson Pollock who also loved to make a giant mess! Please dress your kids in clothes where it is okay for them to get messy!
