  2. Director Report:

Programs: Mother/Daughter Tea Party even held on Saturday May 5th was a success. 12 mothers and daughters attended as well as a special visit from Princess Cinderella. The Parks and Recreation’s first Will Workshop was hosted with Letsch Law Firm from Grimes with 8 participants registered. Champ Soccer ended in April with another successful session as well as Rounded Minds Tumbling. Both will return next year. Swim lesson partnership with Perry for June are at capacity. Our July session is over half full as well. The first Sand Volleyball league will begin Sunday with 6 teams. The Babysitting Clinic through ISU Extension will be held on Thursday May 31 & Friday June 1st and is nearly at capacity with 19 of 20 slots filled. Summer Bam Bam and Soccer registration closes this month (May). Safety Town: Jennifer plans on shadowing two local programs in Johnston and Grimes this summer to get ideas on hosting a Safety Town next year for Granger.

Centennial Park: Electrical issues with the score board and outlets was discovered and was repaired; Little League split the cost with Parks and recreation for repairs. The clock is once again not working. Parks and Recreation is looking at options on removing the clock but needs to speak with the family that donated it first.

Community Center: The Community Center was rented every weekend in the month of May with graduation parties and June has weddings and events on the calendar as well.

Play Ground Audit: Jennifer has been discussing with Playground Guardian on doing a full playground inspection by a certified inspector as well as an ADA Audit to make sure we are compliant. Recently there have been other communities in Iowa who have been audited and Jennifer would like to stay ahead of this and make sure we are up to code. The Community Center playground is currently questionable on ADA Compliance. The cost is $1900.00 (One Thousand, Nine hundred dollars and zero change). Sebastian motions to approve the audit/inspection, Kopp seconds the motion, all were in favor.

Movie In the Park: Harned is in need of help for set up and tear down for the three movie in the Park dates, Saturday June 30th, Saturday July 28th, and Saturday August 25th (Granger Days). The more hands, the faster this process goes.

Public Survey – Harned prepared the public survey and it was mailed out 3/2. How to move forward with the date is still up for debate. Date current presented has been greatly talked about and found quite interesting.
